26/365 Wipers

The pre-snow wiper lifting seems to be a Maryland phenomenon.  I never saw it in SC..and some of my friends from farther North seem to be baffled as well.

Looks like it is time to hang some pictures on the wall...

21/365 Art Imitates Life?

I guess spending the day looking at a cup of coffee in the snow motivated me to finish off this chilly day at work with a mocha.

20/365 Essential

Hmm.  Looks like my good friend here could use a wipe down...

18/365 Ice

It's been awhile since I've seen ice instead of snow, but this morning we ended up with ice coating the ground and the trees.  Since our alley was kind of iced over, I didn't drive into the office, but worked from home.  And thus, was able to take this photo of icy trees in the daylight.

So what do you do on the 2nd day in a row when you get to the end of the day and haven't taken a photo (again, due to my camera being on the 3rd floor)?  Take a picture of your bed before you fall into it.

Notice the King-sized down comforter that my husband gave me for Christmas to keep me warm.  We were having a "covers-stealing" issue.  Now...issue solved!

16/365 Dead Bunny

When it's near the end of the day and your camera has been on the 3rd floor of your house all day...what do you do to make sure you keep up with the 365 project?  When in doubt, take a picture of your pet.  So here is Kyra, in the midst of her famous "Dead Bunny" pose, complete with crossed paws.  Nice.

15/365 Finger-Lickin' Good

We have a friend who has attended culinary school and is a fabulous chef.  She invited us over to watch the Ravens Playoff game (which was...not so good.  Let's focus on how good the food was).  As you can see, J really enjoyed the wings, and Shelley very much wanted some...

14/365 Scotch Tasting

One of the great things about having my husband work at a private social club is getting to attend events with him.  On Friday night, the Club hosted a Scotch tasting.  Since I had to drive home, I did not finish all of my Scotches, but most of them were tasty!

13/365 Thursday Night at Home

Usually on Thursday nights, J and his singer friends gather at the Owl Bar in Baltimore.  This Thursday though, I was a bit tired, and we heard the Owl was a zoo (no pun intended).  Most of the crew ended up at the club on the top floor of the Belvedere.  I was not in a "club" mood at all, so we stayed at home and had a beer and popcorn.  Yum?

12/365 Handsome Kitty

One thing I love about going to Annapolis on Wednesday nights for rehearsal is getting to see my old roommate.  And occasionally, the kitty cats.  Here Marcello finally decided to pose a bit for me...and let a bit of his personality shine through the camera.  Alfi was a bit camera-shy, though.  I miss them.

11/365 Christmas Tree

Yes.  It's January 11th.  And yes, our tree is still up.  So, we decided to get a photo in front of the tree with that nifty self-timer invention.  Hopefully we'll have the tree down this weekend...

Day 9/365 Lunch

I have been trying to incorporate more plant based foods into my diet (you know...whole foods).  Since I have a hard time limiting meat altogether, I'm incorporating it into one meal a day, a bit at a time.  This is what I had for dinner tonight, and will be having for lunch tomorrow.  Mmmm.  A loaded baked potato! With broccoli, spinach, sour cream, cheese, a bit of butter, and a piece of bacon.

7/365

It was a lazy day...and a busy day.  Hence, my picture for Day 7 is of the bedside table lamp in the guest room of our hosts.  Taken right before I fell into bed...

6/365 MARC Train

Occasionally, I will take the MARC Train into the office instead of driving.  It's a bit more expensive, and I have to impose on a co-worker to pick me up from the train station, but it's a much more pleasant experience than driving.  I put on my iPod, sometimes read a book or magazine, and watch the scenery go by.

Today, I took the train in so that J could pick me up from work and drive us South to Chapel Hill.

5/365 Goin' on a Trip

(I tried to post this last night, but alas, Blogger was down).

I clearly need to learn how to pack lighter for a Long weekend trip.  But...we are going to a wedding...and it's so difficult to decide what to wear for wedding-related events...so I brought a few options. :)  I'm sure the Chapel Hill Southern-type folk will enjoy my mixed-and-matched Vera Bradley bags...

3/365 One of My New Favorite Places in Our House

As mentioned on my blog multiple times...I love baths.  Perhaps that is why one of the things that called to me most about our house when we were hunting was the claw foot tub in this house.  I love taking baths here...add a bath bomb, a glass of wine, and a good book...and to me, this is a little slice of heaven on earth!

2/365 Church

I spent this morning, like most Sunday mornings, at St. Anne's Church.  Here is my view of one of the uppermost stained glass windows.

1/365 Lazy Day

My New Years' Day morning consisted of surfing on my MacBook, reading my book, and watching The Tudors.  All in all, a much needed morning of rest!

2011 New Years' Resolutions

Here they are...my Resolutions for 2011!  Most are repeats from last year that I really want to complete.  When I made my resolutions last year, I had no idea how hectic 2010 would be with a wedding, buying a house, etc.  I am hoping for more time in 2011 to be disciplined in my resolutions, and ultimately, in my life!

1. Complete a 365 Day Photo Project - While sometimes a bit of a burden to take a photo every day, for the 2 months I completed this last year, I really enjoyed it.  It is especially entertaining to look back on the photos and remember those days.  This year, in preparation, I have a great new point-and-shoot camera, a working way to transfer the photos to my computer, and a battery charger.  So...unless I lose any of those items again...I have no excuses for not completing the project this year!

2.  Read the Bible through in a Year-  Again, like last year, this is something I really want to do...and would benefit me greatly as a daily devotional.  Enough said.

3.  Make it a priority to have at least one "date night" with my husband a week-  Currently we have tried to set aside Tuesday as "date night".  Perhaps I can use the blog to keep me accountable on this...let's hope by the end of the year I have 52 "Date Night" posts.  Hmmm.

4.  Run/Exercise at least 3 times a week- In 2010, I probably managed to average exercising 2 times a week after taking a month off after the Goofy Challenge.  Since I mentioned in my last post that I've gained 7 pounds since this time last year (2 over the course of the year...5 since the wedding and our gluttony-filled honeymoon), I really need to have some discipline in my running.  It really is the best way for me to stay fit and at a healthy weight.  I'm signing up for a March half-marathon to jump-start my January with some long runs and a reason to train!

5.  Lose the 7 pounds I've gained since last year.  My clothes fit the same..but I feel "blah" and blob-ish.  Time for some January clean-slate healthy eating and exercise motivation!

So, as you can see, I'm trying to be a little more conservative this year, and hopefully I'll be able to complete these year long projects!
